Providing the Break You Need
Respite program created to provide much needed relief to families of individuals with intellectual disabilities by providing care giving assistance.
Respite services provide temporary relief from the demands of care giving for an individual with I/DD. It helps reduce overall family stress and tension and often enables families to better meet the varied emotional and physical needs of their loved one. A dedicated staff person will be assigned to care for your family member based on the amount of hours approved by OPWDD. These services, authorized for qualifying individuals of any age, can occur in or out of the home at any time of the day. Respite hours can be in addition to any community habilitation hours.
